A Busy Week...
Buzz Buzz,
This isn’t a comic review. I know. Don’t be sad.
I’ve got a crazy week this week, and I wanted to make sure everyone knew what was going down.
I’ve got THREE live shows this week (plus an interview, but you’ll learn about that later—or possibly sooner if you’re subscribed to the Patreon)!
To begin, tonight at 8PM CST, I’ll be hosting a Kickstarter Launch Party for Frankenstein the Unconquered.
This book is all kinds of badass. It takes place 500 years after Shelley’s groundbreaking novel. Our favorite monster pissed off some folks, and they shot him into space. The comic begins with the creature plummeting to earth surrounded by cosmic starfire, and it quickly cranks the narrative up to 11.
I’m super stoked to see where this creative team takes this wild story. The writing is great, art is gnarly good, and it’s worth a spot on your shelf. Click here for the link and tune in tonight! There are going to be some nice surprises for early backers, I hear!
And check out this EPIC pinup they got from Flops Comics!
Tomorrow, 9/20, I’m doing ANOTHER Kickstarter Launch Party for Grandma Chainsaw!
The team that brought us Pocus Hocus (which I reviewed and loved) is back with a new horror comic that looks equal parts gruesome and phenomenal. Seriously, this book looks amazing, and this campaign is launching just in time for what might be the spookiest Spooky Season yet for Blake’s Buzz (to be fair, this is only the 2nd Spooky Season during the life of Blake’s Buzz, but I have some epic shit planned for all you lovely people).
Click here to set a reminder and stop by Tuesday night to learn about your next-favorite slasher comic!
Finally, Wednesday night, 9/21, I’ll be hosting the entire By The Horns team to talk about all things happening in Solothus!
With volume 1 out in the wild, and the second arc well on its way to the same level of awesomeness, we figured it’d be a good time to get the gang back together and nerd out. Bees. Unicorns. Magic. It’s going to be an epic night! Click here to set a reminder.
I’m also doing a giveaway over on Twitter, so if you want to win a signed comic by the series’ artist, Jason Muhr, go find me and check it out!
In other news, make sure to check out the new episode of Blake’s Buzz. Mark Fu*king Russell came to party, and we talk about Superman, religion, and the weirdness of being a writer during these crazy times. We had a really great conversation, and I hope you all check it out.
I know I’ve been a bit inconsistent on the podcast episodes, and I appreciate you all being patient. I’ll be making it up to you in October, promise.
Last, but definitely not least, I launched a Patreon!
If you want, you can help me make Blake’s Buzz buzz even harder! I’ve also got some additional tiers for extra content if you’re into that. There’s a newsletter, The Hive Mind, and I’ll also be doing an additional podcast, The Honey Pot—the sweet spot for nerd news!
I’ve already got a handful of patrons, and I can’t thank you all enough!
I told you it was a crazy week! I’m hoping I make it out alive. I’m also hoping to have enough time to post a couple reviews, finish a couple novels, and write the first newsletter.
Easy peasy, right?
I work hard because I appreciate you all, and I want to share the good side of comics with as many people as I can (so far, seems to be working).
Now, let’s all try and coax Monday into not kicking our asses and try and have an awesome day!
To help Monday be a little less lame, I’m gonna give you a little taste of Frankenstein the Unconquered’s NSFW cover from Flops Comics!
The Spooky Season can be spicy too!
Appreciate you all, seriously.
